@flaneur better luck next time
Uhhhh but split off or not cars still have to exit somewhere which is still a bottleneck
Oh sure! That's definitely a bottleneck. But potentially less of one than it may seem. Obviously don't know the speed of the elevators, but a large-ish stations could easily be placed every ~1/2 mile with only one auxiliary tunnel, & could have lots of elevators each.
It's just a model x driving on battery power with some guide wheels on the side
Except with 8-12 people per car and all acting independently, you can have vastly more "express" routes/near point to point travel than a Subway. See PRT systems. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_rapid_transit …
..just don’t mention junctions and/or forks at such speeds and traffic (underground
). None such design has been introduced and honestly without it the whole concept looks like a clickbait.
imagine the horror show of some kind of accident or emergency situation down there causing a pileup or people getting stuck. i’m all for innovation - and i’m not just naysaying - it’s bold and compelling - but it seems very far from even being 1/2 baked at best still.
