    Also, check out the supplemental (eeek 19MB) where we reproduce the analysis on the two-hemisphere rat brain, check out some directed-ness, look at another modularity algorithm, and cluster the similarity matrices too--for comparison to the blockmodel clusterings

    This flexibility of the wsbm is great and it infers structures that are blocky ... but also, we find that wsbm recovers many modular/assortative configurations too! (modularity is still cool in my books!)

    Jokes aside, we demonstrate that the wsbm can be run on a single weighted and directed network (such as the rat brain, but also could be c. elegans or monkey) to recover a range of community structures, incl modular, core, periphery, and disassortative regimes.

    plus is such a neat college town that makes grad school even better. It totally upended my original expectations of lil' midwestern town... instead... I find this place full of energy, music, food, and artsy culture. Also, easy living as a grad student!
