In fairness, Alex, you’ve called for arrests and crowd dispersal on Twitter. I understand your thoughts re the lockdown, but we must understand that many protestors feel this is an issue they cannot sit still for it. It’s not our place as white men to tell them how to speak out.
- they see this issue as more of a threat to their life than coronavirus. If you have an alternate way of pressing for change, I suggest you put it forward rather than just calling for the arrest of peaceful protestors. I reiterate my point, as allies we must speak up and -

- speak out, and amplify the voices of our black friends. But it is not our job to tell them how to protest, or how to speak out, as we don’t have that lived experience. If you want to big up your allyship, then put forward an alternate proposal beyond just “arrest and disperse”

Alex, if you wonder why people of colour march during lockdown it’s because they’ve marched for decades and their concerns have still not been effectively addressed. I do hope that the government responds to this situation appropriately, but the silence so far is deafening.
