So you’re gonna jump in and say that what Liz Truss has said about GRA Reform and the government’s failure to outlaw conversion therapy isn’t harping back to outdated policies from decades gone by? The Tories haven’t just let down the LGBT+ community, they’re endangering it.

If you believe what you’re saying, ask yourself why Labour didn’t just let down the LGBT+ community but endangered it for 13 years? Why did the Labour ‘19 manifesto fail to commit to banning conversion therapy? The hypocrisy and politicising stinkshttps://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/jamiewareham/2019/11/29/no-uk-party-manifesto-promises-to-ban-gay-conversion-therapy-so-where-do-they-stand/amp/ …

The whataboutery here is off the charts
Re-read the article you just sent me where it says Labour confirmed we’d end conversion therapy. Difference is the Tories are in government and have failed to do so. Again, I notice you’ve side stepped Truss’s comments on GRA reform.pic.twitter.com/rK8xUnkFSt

I am correct in saying Labour never made it a manifesto promise. In the article, it states The Conservative Party would ban it, they have 4 years until the end of Parliament to fulfil that commitment. It took Labour 6 years to repeal Section 28 so it is wrong to whip up a frenzy

Saying you have 4 years to ban conversion therapy isn’t an argument. How many lives get destroyed via conversion therapy in those four years? The government should ban it now.

What was the impact and life’s lost due to Labour taking six years to repeal section 28? This is why you shouldn’t play party politics

Your ability to side step arguments about what the government is stunning. Don’t give me “what about this.” Confront the fact that Liz Truss is actively failing the LGBT+ community. This is about rights, it’s about people’s sexuality & gender being politicised by this government.

I don’t appreciate you trying to score political points when this isn’t a party political matter, it’s a delicate social issue which needs treating with care and researched evidence on the benefits and drawbacks of any amendment to the GRA.

It is a delicate social issue. The only problem is the Tory government isn’t approaching it delicately. They’re endangering people’s lives, so please don’t tell me what you “don’t appreciate.” If standing up for people against that is “political” then yes, I am gonna be political

Sorry but the Labour Party is rife with people unsupportive of reforming the GRA, including its senior MPs and Lords. Your quest to cause division does nothing to further your cause. Many Tories are Tory because they’re LGBT, not despite of it.

My advice would be to do some research on this issue, because a lot of your replies to myself and others have shown you don’t understand it. While you’re at it, here’s a link to write to your MP about the way Liz Truss is attacking the LGBT+ community:http://thekitetrust.org.uk/write-to-your-mp/ …
