Can East Herts explain why they’re challenging this decision by the Planning Inspectorate in particular and are not challenging the decision on the Gasworks site on Marshgate drive?

Gassworks was already identified as a development site in the district plan. No comparison there at all.

Gasworks specified for 200 homes in district plan. Application was denied by EHDC due to overdevelopment, planning inspectorate overturned that decision and EHDC said they would not challenge. Point stands - why challenge inspectorates decision on this site and not on Gasworks?

Plus we have to be realistic regarding what is challengeable legally and ultimately winnable. Every challenge comes at a cost to the taxpayer.

I agree we have to be realistic, but as I said in my tweet above, clarity beyond just “legal advice” would come as a relief to the many local people concerned/upset about Gasworks site.
