So important we protect employment sites like this one - but some of the buildings here are also in desperate need of renovation and repair. Positive work from East Herts here

I absolutely agree - I walk through every day and it’s in a sorry state. I think it’s important we don’t just retain, but also repair industrial and employment sites. If we want them to flourish we need to improve and invest in them.
The problem has always been attracting businesses onto the sites. My first job was on Foxholes for Orange and I always found it interesting to compare the two sites seeing as they are basically on the same land. Foxholes has rarely had empty buildings, whereas Caxton always has.
The disparity between the two is getting worse - lots of empty/dilapidated units in Caxton, whereas Foxholes is essentially full. Question now is how the local authority can best attract new business/industry? Renovation and repair should play a role in that, I think.
