🗣️ Unpopular opinion: Develop your application in an API-first approach, meaning you develop the API layer first and add the clients as needed (front, mobile, integrations, whatever). This way, you limit the scope of each service and you're able to scale and develop it with ease.

I've been playing around with . It's really good! I've been able to put it managing all requests for my local development infrastructure. Once you get the basics right, it's a breeze to work with it.

I'm ok with the people not knowing how to test, or asking for help, but take that as a learning opportunity. I'll gladly invest my time helping those because it'll be an investment to save debug time in the mid/long term. Think about this the next time you send a PR anywhere...

People that use the "it's faster this way" argument are the worse, and have a special place in hell. They're not really thinking of speed of development, but they're simply thinking about themselves and how much work and effort is needed to add proper tests. That's selfishness.

Let's get one thing straight: asking a contributor to submit tests with their code is not being a blocker because someone will have to maintain it! Tests are both insurance and confirmation that the code works and will continue to work for as long as the business logic is valid.

This! 👇 You don’t need to worry about perfect, 100%, test coverage. Using doesn’t guarantee a software free of bugs but ensures that the intended behaviour does work. When bugs appear, you create a regression test, make the proper fix and move on with your life. Simple! 👌

It's worth a read. If this affects you, you need to begin proper planning.

I see a lot of questions and TILs that would not exist if we all read the documentation! But, then again, documentation must exist and actual be thorough, to be efficient. Nevertheless, always read the manual before working with any tech or tool. You’ll learn a lot!

To all tech companies that are looking for developers: you can bump your minimum required version to 7! I still see 5.3 being used in the wild!
