The solution with static dictionary is disaster. Introduces slow performance and creates massive memory leaks.

I'm always afraid when there are two way to do the same thing. Hope this will not cause a terrible mess. Is there a way to force an alternative over the other? (For extension methods, I mean)

IMO the static dictionary as a backing store for properties is pretty awful. Expecting to see lots and lots of mem leaks where the backing dict is out of sync with what objects are actually alive

ConcurrentDictionary is pretty cool. There's a good Pluralsight course on it.
