    Today is my first day teaching as “Non-Tenure Track Instructional Faculty” (read adjunct) at UMD. I’ll be teaching compilers! Many thanks to and for setting this up, helping me through the admin and getting ready for the semester.

    Contrast is a bit weak, but aside from the top bulb bleeding into the second one, it is tulip-like. As with figure skating, points are awarded based on difficulty. So while it’s less pleasing than Tuesday’s it does come out a bit ahead. Sorry, I make the rules. B+

    Decent micro-foam and contrast. Leaves are a bit narrow, likely due to a combination of difficulty from cup height and foam being a tiny bit too thick for a proper rosetta. Solid B.

    I think that most of my hesitation around the GHC Linear Types proposal would be addressed if it was renamed "Linear Arrows". It just seems... more honest? idk. Maybe I'm misunderstanding it.

    So, I made my lecture slides with Racket’s slideshow. At home everything worked great, but once I was hooked up to the projector the interactive repl wouldn’t show on the screen. I just switched windows to a terminal, but I love the idea of it being on the slide. Any thoughts?

    I’ve decided I’m going grade my latte art every morning of a lecture; because it’s silly and I like my pink keep-cup. For a month now I’ve been waking up early just so that it would be a habit for this semester. This morning was still difficult and I messed up the art 😥 C+
