I came to this novel because it got some pretty good reviews. I’ll let them speak for the book, they’ll do it more justice than me.

I sincerely can’t believe the Republicans didn’t put a single woman on the Judiciary Committee.

Perhaps WSJ lore, but rule supposedly started with Castro. He was a Dr of Laws. Editor didn’t want to call him Dr. Castro. Instead Mr. Castro. To be consistent, Mr. for every other leader.

Here's what's gonna happen. Sooner or later we are gonna find out who the anonymous NYT op-ed writer is. He/she will hailed as a hero. Will get a book deal. Cable TV gigs. Harvard fellowships. The predictable rewards for having your Trump cake and eating it too.

Nike is probably doomed by this patriotic shoe burning. In 1966 and 1975, some nut job churches convinced their flock to burn Beatle albums, and that band was almost immediately erased from history. No one ever bought another Beatles album or listened to their music again.

A 0.22% decline in US GDP is, in dollar terms, roughly the same as a 2.2% decline in Canadian GDP. So when you say US is in a stronger position if Nafta is revoked, you're saying (in effect) throwing 300,000 people out of work doesn't matter to the U.S. but does to Canada.

Now I’m really panicking. Unelected officials, serving at the whim of an erratic leader, are in charge of providing the oversight that Congress refuses to exercise. God have mercy on us!
