I thought there was something strange when it was published because of the strong association between white coat HTN and mortality. Will be interesting to see the re-analysis.

I agree — though, when we excluded their study from our meta-analysis, the WCH-CVD events association persisted (not as high magnitude as they saw)

"inaccuracies in the analytic database..." Not necessarily connected, but am wondering whether this is the same national ABPM registry used in Hygia chronotherapy RCT.

Good thought, but it's supposedly different research groups. Hygia was by Hermida's group in Vigo, the Spanish Registry is out of Madrid, and apparently they're fully separate research groups (e.g., I don't believe they've even collaborated previously):pic.twitter.com/u6qauWfVMe

Databases originating from "real-life" registries need accurate data check and cleaning. We manage a large ABPM registry and do this periodically while the database is growing. You must also accept to throw away a lot of rubbish data ;-)
