Disappointed in the reaction to M&S hijab. As I wore a kippah to school from a very young age, growing up with religious identity is ok. I don't wear one now but that's the choice I make and as long as the girls get a choice I don't see the harm in M&S selling it

According to
@MaajidNawaz there’s no religious requirement for pre-pubescent girls to wear the hijab, that’s the issue. It’s available to girls aged 3 to ‘preserve their modesty’. Does a 3 year old make that decision or their parents?1 antwoord 0 retweets 0 vind-ik-leuks -
When I was 3 I was made to wear religious symbols and that's ok. When the child is old enough and wishes not to wear the symbols it is only right that her choice is respected then. We are very lucky to live in a country which caters to their choice and free will

The hijab is quite restrictive though and it’s entire purpose is to protect women’s modesty, women’s hair is considered sexual which is why it should be hidden post-puberty, hence for a 3 year old to wear it would be to suggest them as sexual-I think (

I will keep my personal opinions on the Hijab to myself. What I think shouldn't be forced onto people who I don't know or nescerially agree with. If they wish to wear it, let them wear it. It's when anyone is forced to do anything outside of free will there's an issue

I don’t particularly have an opinion on any religious dress although I wonder whether M&S sell other items for different religions. I’ve listened to Maajid discuss this several times though and agree that children should literally be able to let their hair down at school!

I agree about choice.Yet if they grow up in a religious house hold they should also have the choice to follow as well. Ik many girls who have taken theirs off and many girls who have chosen to keep it on. As long as theirs choice there isn't a problem. M&S can sell what they want
