Remember when people acted like Weidman-Silva 2 was a hyper rare freak occurrence? Kickboxing hero Tyrone Spong just had his shin explode.

It wasn't UFC, but don't forget when Pele snapped his leg like a twig. That was 2008 or 2009 I think

Pele one was disgusting. Pele had some rough spots. Ellenberger KO'ing him so hard he unconsciously puked was grisly.

Happened 2 times in big fights doesn't mean it's not still very very rare. About a million fights out there it didn't happen.

@fleshreaper There's a million fights that don't end by gogoplata, too. Doesn't make it a ridiculous, one-in-a-mil fluke. Just uncommon.
@fleshreaper It's not "two", though. There's at least a half dozen other notable fights, including the infamous Cage Rage one.
@fleshreaper And who knows how often regionally. Also, consider that most guys aren't effectively checking kicks until elite level
@fleshreaper Again, not saying it's an ordinary thing, just laughing at people who were like "DOESN'T COUNT, ANDERSON DIDN't LOSE"

@fleshreaper Hill-Hartt. Also, keep in mind it's only in the last 8-10 years we've got a level of striking where it's feasible.

When was the last time that happened in kick boxing? I mean there's a handful of examples of it happening, still pretty rare.
