Yes, but "too rich" so often means "everyone richer than me."https://twitter.com/HumanProgress/status/995709255775870976 …

The next time someone brings up poverty or income inequality within the United States, keep in mind the importance of a proper perspective. From a global standpoint, you may very well be a part of “the top 1 percent.” https://buff.ly/2FEzrJx

Eh personally I always thought "too rich" as "there's so much money there's no way it'll be used in even their children's lifetime and it's downright wasteful". Of course, I was always led to believe this was more common among the wealthy than is actually the case.

Wouldn’t depend on how we define “used“? What happens to the funds not initially spent on consumables? Invested? Helps companies start up? Loaned to those willing to pay interest in order to get funded in advance? When would it become “too much“?

Relative inequality within societies still matters though. In the US, for example, 57% of the population can’t afford a 500 dollar emergency expense. That’s a recipe for a very unstable society despite the fact that everyone in the US lives much, much better than say Haiti

I defend capitalism a lot as well and agree with most of your opinions but one thing gets me. What is one good reason why anyone should hoard 100s of billions instead of that money being used to improve life for all. We used to tax the .01% at 80% up until Nixon.

There are wealthy people that do charity after all... but 1 billion fortune rarely means 1 billion in the pocket.

Again, this is almost useless info. Purchasing Power Parity is a thing.
