Overall yes, the world is improving but there are massive demographics paying for those benefits instead of enjoying them. It's a great book but it leaves out the perspective of a lot of people that are sick and tired with the establishment.

People care about relative conditions vs. absolute conditions; the latter is a good reminder, but did not make contact with any substantive thing people are actually concerned about nowadays. Like, no one is worried about the 2018 life expectancy.
