Indeed, this is the problem with holding subjective preferences higher than truth. Instead of controlling kids and forcing them to comply with our whims, we should sit down w them and discuss what do they like in church, and find out the truth about their and our emotions.

I think the moral of the chapter is, you better bloody well make sure you kids are well socialised or you'll end up hating them and so will everyone else, and their lives will be hell. But that's a bit simplified.
