Very true, you need balance. Also, I have always believed that the scientific approach of observation and conclusion should be applied as much as possible to higher consciousness and spirituality.

I do agree we need to outgrow religion, but into the mysticism of consciousness and a truer form of spirituality, not into mundane, rational atheism and a denial of anything beyond the physical senses.
