It’s funny how times have changed I remember saying that on a YouTube comment section years ago and I was “torn a part” for even mentioning that.

Incredibly sad. Many younger people think that relationships are disposable. They don’t work at them. If they come across a roadblock they bail - after all, to them, there are many other people to encounter on dating apps. As for sex too soon - everyone expects it now :(

“There is nothing casual about casual sex” -JP To assume emotions can be detached from intimacy is intently naive and distorts actual significance in any sort of relationship.

Part of the cause of this is young men (correctly though probably unconsciously) perceive how the "relationship" deck is stacked against them. A trip through divorce and family court as a young male observer is very enlightening and the opposite of encouraging.

How did casual sex become so normal?

There's a lot going on here that's biased towards this idea that "old fashioned dating is good, casual sex is bad." Hookups are not as tragically simple as this out of touch author makes them out to be. Stop judging non-traditional relationships. and just live your own life.

This feels like a gross oversimplification. At least the article. It implies that traditional modes are best. When both traditional structures and modern realities are broken.
