How would Doug Saunders feel if writing that column could cost him his job. Would he write it? Would there be an Op-Ed Panic then? Answer: of course not, there would always be another Doug Saunders to come along and explain why firing the first one was A-OK.

They want it to be a fracas, not a crisis. Crisis implies there are choices and decisions to be made. Unfortunately, they may be correct: the decisions with regard to free expression appear to have been handed down 3 or 4 decades ago. That it's only news now is the real tragedy.

I too suspect something is off in the way they categorize conservative vs liberal vs moderate. Everyone thinks they are moderate.
