Surely you must realize from an evo-psych perspective - an approach that you've (quite admirably!) defended - that tribalism is inevitable and rational? And that the same applies to stereotyping/discrimination (i.e. formation and application of heuristics)?

Tribalism won't let us. People have an inherent need to classify themselves, and the majority of them absolutely crave to be told what to do. This problem is as old as human history, and I don't think it's going anywhere any time soon.
