Here's something that also accelerates that process. Entire class being punished for the actions of one child. Example, making all kids sit out at recess when one kid is "acting up." In many cases this can be the class clown. Happened in my classes multiple times (not bc of me).

I was labelled class clown & disruptive. Teachers didn’t realise I wasn’t being challenged, they thought I was stupid & even tried to convince me not to go to uni. I have two good degrees, to their shock. Teachers just don’t understand playful “disruptive” children.
