I don’t mind people having a bias, as long as they are open about what their bias is. Bias isn’t a negative as such, I am biased toward older music than pop music. The problem is when ppl / departments pretend neutrality but practice bias.

True, the protective “shield the company” nature of HR is something I’ve been thinking about a lot. Somewhere it moved away from being the department that is sooposed to be a neutral component that promotes Human Resources to a Legal Comoliance department.
