Fascinating read. The comments section equally so. Thanks for the link!

I don't think you will fare well against Sam a third or fourth time if past performance is any prediction. PS - Nassim Taleb's analogies don't fit his material ie he is often full of shit.

I admit if your position on any topic brings you close to Nassim Taleb's stated position, this leads to - maybe even overly - reinforced scepticism on my side. Sure, claims should be judged by theircontent, not by its source. But one has to sort out certain sources sometime.

I side with Harris on this one... Just taking one exemple from the text: The eyes don't have a job. Nothing in nature has a job. The eyes just evolved to produce "accurate scientific representation of reality" because it happened to be "useful for survival".

@jordanbpeterson ,@nntaleb believes in old texts and choice and old evolved ideas,@SamHarrisOrg wants us to believe that there is no choice and if you look at his book list old texts are not valued very highly. I would love to hear you and Taleb talk.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Your tumblr is really, really gay. Why am I not surprised? You’re another lightweight talking big game...

'Rationality' needs a frame of reference. Flawd to decree that 'survival' is the ONLY frame to use. SCIENCE is another frame. When survival/religion rate rationality of something different than science, is one wrong? are both valid in context of their views? science>survival!!

Further, let's keep straight on definitions of truth, rationality. (With infinite respect.)

Sam has described Nassim as an insufferable bully with a complete and mortifying mismatch between his estimation of himself and the quality of his utterances. I would listen to what he says about this article, but wouldn't expect anything new.

I don’t think you want to know what I think of Sam Harris.
