You should read @bryan_caplan book the case of education, he provides evidence to suggest that political leanings of teachers don’t influence the political leanings of students

Actually it's probable they work inversely. My sons have reacted against overtly feminist, left leaning teaching, becoming more conservative in the process. I find this troubling.

In British Columbia, Human Rights Code from 1968-1993 contained exemption for free "speech and writing." In 1991/92 Calendar, UBC introduced completely illegal prohibition on "harassment and discrimination." In 1993 legislature changes speech/writing to "private communication."

The problem is legislative, and the reason we have this legislation is because of awful people in the Universities from the late 1800s onward---the whole edifice is useless, the University system grew up in context of a state church, it's obsolete.

We need to set the entry point for a Teaching degree at higher than that for Medicine and pay teachers more than doctors imo. This would improve the calibre of teachers in 4 years.

Let's face it, u don't need 2b very intelligent 2 become a teacher. The better ones r likely 2b more intelligent but I would imagine 2b an effective one doesn't require a high IQ. In general, medical doctors on the other hand do need a high IQ to become doctors and be effective.
