You got a chicken egg scenario here: are gender roles a result of observed differences or are observed differences a result of gender roles? The latter requires an unnatural conspiracy while the former a natural development. Imma go with Occam's Razor on this one.

Men and women are different. Biological fact. But within any group of men you'll find those who don't fit into defined definitions. Within any group of women you'll find those who don't fit into defined definitions. We all have brains. And are different yet the same.

I happen to be exception, scoring higher in math than verbal (seem to have this math gene), but I do accept the GENERAL differences. If studies not used as pretext to prejudge INDIVIDUALS, but perhaps to explain why gender differences in fields like tech will persist, that's fine

Haven't thought about that. Interesting perspective although i believe not always true.

It's a population level difference, so by definition not always true. But at least based on the"Norwegian Gender Paradox" it creates a 19:1 gender difference in nursing and engineering.

Explain Bolivia then. Explain the recent arrival of gender parity in scientific research in Australia then. No neuroscientist worth their salt would say that irrespective of cultural influence biology dictates what type of job you're going to select. Peterson's full of shit.

I love it when he says well documented, as if that makes it so. There is not a body of research that supports that cultural influence does not matter an eventual job selection. Look at the radical differences among countries. That should tell you all you need to know.
