Having two parents working doesn't mean the children are "raised by strangers. " That idiotic statement undermines the valid portions of your argument. Even in daycare, caregivers aren't "strangers" and they don't single handedly raise other children.

In Canada, geared-to-household-income child benefit payments encourage staying at home. Extended mat leave will exacerbate the effect, as do increasing daycare costs.

That only applies to families where income is near or below the median. Families with two professionals are not encouraged to stay home at all.
