Jordan, have you looked at the work done by Conservatives in the UK to restore an academic curriculum, phonics, Times tables, etc from 2010? Credit largely to Michael Gove and Nick Gibb (latter is still in there as Schools Minister) Amazing counter-revolution.

And since education is devolved to feel-good lefty governments in Wales and Scotland, you can see the difference Gove and Gibb have made in English schools.
