You do know that these are clips taken out of context? What he actually said was the exact opposite of what this video proposes: that we have to recognise the shadow, and make sure that does not happen

They're not the same thing but labelling them dominance competitions is accurate. As you point out, agreeable people earn less than disagreeable people, and that isn't tied to competence. Dominance will get you further than competence in career and relationships.

But as he so eloquently stated in his Channel 4 interview: dominance will only give you a certain period of satisfaction in a relationship.
