What we need to understand is that politics and the multitude of factions that arise from it isn’t the cause of the problem, but a symptom. Our issues as a society stem from a lack of spiritual understanding.

Not spiritual as it applies to Religion, or Theism, or even God for that matter, but spiritual as it applies to the individual and how that individual behaves in relation to themselves and other individuals in order to form a properly functioning society.

I think the answer is how that adherence to group identity manifests itself in everyday life. Adhering to Christ's principles gives society humble, hard-working, selfless, altruistic contributors to society.
