Even though this attack was completely fabricated, it's important to reiterate how nasty & racist Canadians are in general and that they should feel ashamed of themselves regardless.

How do you think this should be handled differently, going forward? Would you say that public officials should never comment on any story without a certain amount of forensic evidence to support it? Or some other criteria? You can nominate any criteria you like.
