You nearly knocked me over when you said women have to grow up faster and can be miserable about the fact that we need to have all the major components in life figured out by, at latest, 35. Im 30 and just got out of a 7 year relationship. Work is sorted, but family life?? PANIC.

My partner left without worries. However I feel dreadfully behind, especially after thinking I was with my life partner. He was an unsorted male, and it caused such despair. I'm happy to have a chance at finding the right partner now, but it's at such a strange time in my life.

Most people get that. But, there is still the idea, among many logical people, that you quite possibly aren't the one who writes the Xmas cards or ends up taking care of ailing grandpa. If you have equal division of labor at home, your point is good.
