(1/N) Lets not forget motivation/engagement. I teach kids (8-12) coding and soccer - talk about worlds apart. The key moment is to get them to past the "Can I do this" point. Very easy for kids to immediately jump to "No". Need to give them a "just right" challenge.

(2/N) But they must feel successful in that "just right" challenge. Maybe that's a small coding project or they learn what different kicks can do to a ball or make a friend. Once you meet them where they are and take them forward they trust you and themselves and WANT to learn.
