Nobody is stopping them from completing their task. Antinatalists can go ahead and destroy a blood line stretching back to pre-history.... It's to their own downfall anyway.

"A blood line stretching back to pre-history" is an abstract concept with no value. We all evolved as part of an accidental, unplanned, haphazard, meaningless process, & like 99% of all species that have ever existed, Homo Sapiens will die out one day as if it had never existed.

I've never understood why antinatalists don't have the courage of their convictions and end their own lives. That isn't a suggestion or desire on my part, but it does seem to be the natural conclusion.

Completely agree, it seems the logical conclusion to the philosophy

That's unfair. Peterson interrupted and steamrolled Benatar often enough for the latter to be afforded lattitude for an interruption or two of his own. They each let each other speak, and that's enough.

@lieberman_jason Been hoping for this encounter since I heard David Benatar for the first time on Sam Harris' podcast. I found Benatar's conception of existence to be extremely sterile. I think his idiosyncratic lack of emotional processing strongly colors his philosophy... -
Wow, never heard of him. Have to check it out

That is fair. It's true that a religious believe typically is synonymous with a strongly held value for human life.
