Hahah, nice set of averages. The truth is, in 1990 I could earn more in a day (in pounds sterling) than I can today. Wages for working class people have never been so good as then. But the Bank of England created more money, and the banks lent it to the rich, So, who grows now?

When you lose your house here now, some rich buy to let landlord with endless almost free credit it buys it up and rents it back to you. Now that's what I call progress

Apart from a miniscule percentage at the very top, inequality has not increased since the late 80s in the UK either, yet bullshit like “relative poverty” has been used to convince the young and the stupid that hardcore socialism is worth trying.

Shouldn't this also be converted to relative purchasing power? If you're talking about the actual worth of how much something is - inflation only covers the worth of a piece of paper relative to other pieces of paper. But that paper can buy more or less things over the years.
