JBP's position is flawed from the start by assuming that all pride in ones race, heritage, people is unhealthy. Such pride is assumed in most races other than White. Many of our greatest accomplishments have been odes to our history, exalting the beauty our forefathers created.

I'm not proud of my Mexican/Native American heritage. I acknowledge it, but I don't take pride in it. I didn't create the culture nor did I contribute to it. If I was say a someone who molded the culture around it then I may take pride.

Pride can become an unhealthy thing very quickly though if you're not careful of it. It leads to this entitlement mindset that can destroy the culture your forefathers created.

Pretty sure you can get "entitlement" regardless of "pride" just as you can get measles regardless of whether you had the flu. Unless you think everyone on welfare is doing so because that's what would honor their ancestors?

Entitlement comes along with pride. Pride is by definition "a dignified sense of what is due to oneself". Would you not agree that's awfully similar to "you have a right to have *insert thing here*" you can uphold values and tradition without pride.
