Why do people think this piece is good? Tribal virtue signaling with an "authority figure" as its messenger?

Credentials? The only Ira Wells with any genuine credentials died in 1934.

The “critical” part of “critical thinking” is questioning “power hierarchies”? Critical thinking is questioning everything relevant, and making judgements based on logical and unbiased analysis. That’s the critical part: “unbiased”. Ira Wells needs to work on that.

The bit about Pollock is a little strange. Not sure how that squares with the critique. Seems like he painted from a deep place of individuality, against the status quo, so to speak. From what I can tell, Peterson celebrates the idea of the individual.

In fairness to Kay, he does say "worth a read, whatever side you're on". I think it's good that ppl want to criticize you, hopefully you'll grow from that too. Problem is you can't do that if someone like @Ira_Wells just writes a lying smear piece & fails to engage honestly.

Also, the critique about Peterson not creating a lasting work of scholarship is misleading. How about untold hours of lectures on YouTube? The biblical lectures are a perfect example. It’s one of the most daunting subjects anyone could take on and he had the guts to do so.
