Virtue signalling - such a wierd word - maybe they should call it Jordan signalling

Using the pronouns a person invented for himself (and being forced by law to do so) isn't basic respect, it's the insane premium packet of respect.

The CBC is Canada's Pravda. Their Cultural Marxist opinions are so absurdly partisan as to be self-parody. Furthermore, they can exercise their free speech without consequences due to the generosity of Canadian taxpayers. "Consequences for thee, but not for me!"

J.Peterson's views about trans are neither bizarre nor abhorrent. They are in fact pretty mainstream, pretty in keeping with Classical Liberalism, and pretty shared by many trans persons.

If you follow the good Dr. MacFarlane, virtue signal is what he does and how he rolls. If you can get past his annoying personality, he can be quite entertaining. Even better are his groupies in the media that fall over themselves to bask in the great Professor's approval.
