I expressly did not defend Laurier here. I criticized them. What I find "the worst" is that this will be taken up as the norm, when it's not. Laurier was wrong to do what they did.
It's close enough to the norm so that there are entire administrative entities in all universities devoted to exactly such practices. Wilfred Laurier is by no means the worst.

Agreed they're not the worst. McGill earlier this year -- that was a travesty. But we should understand the scope and scale of the problem rather than cherry-picking examples and blowing them out of proportion. Let's apply some social scientific methodology to this, yeah?
