I would still change it. Recovery setting for someone to receive your password are easily faked.

Change password, use a password manager, use 2 factor auth, if you already did call phone company and tell them people are trying to impersonate you. A hardware token based two factor authorization is the more secure and you should probably be using one to be honest.
