I think this is stupid. That said, art has always acted in an activist role. Even your beloved Gulag Archipelago. This is no different, except you dislike the ideology of the activist.

Not quite, as far as I understand Gulag was written vs. the state. This is a state regulated (& sponsored) school forcing political agenda versus teaching skills, techniques, & aesthetics. It's the difference between learning to become a propagandist and learning to be an artist.

I'm partial to 1500's and 1600's European Art, especially Dutch masters. That the only thing I really look for in museums. I usually leave in awe. Every modern art exposition I visited looked like pile of garbage and junk that anyone can assemble from his trash bin himself.
