That's just a...bizarre thing to say. At least in my opinion, since Christianity seems to be a foundation of at least half of what he says.

Not really bizarre. He is pussyfooting around Christianity (i.e. turns into a mumbler) bc/ he doesn't want to alienate his atheist audience/ potential clientele. Especially when talking to hosts he knows aren't religious. While in fact, he's a preacher-& a salesman- in disguise.
