This says so much more about you than should've ever been said out loud. Thanks for warning us though.

I admire how he believes (1) that men will descend into violence if our pretense of superiority isn't pandered to & (2) that he is taking a pro-men position.
-
Usurp - “to take control of a position of power, especially without having the right to” He didn’t say anything about pandering to male “superiority”, YOU did! He’s pointing out the perils of radically reordering society to achieve FEmale supremacy.
-
Usurp implies that women don't have the right to take positions of power Doesn't that by definition imply that men are superior? I'm not sure you thought this though.
-
*through
-
Oh, I’ve thought it through. Of course women have the right to assume positions of power - when earned by merit. But radical reordering of society - for eg Trudeau cabinet arbitrarily appoints 50% women - “because its 2015” rather than screening for competency, that’s usurping
-
The fact that you're questioning whether or not these women gained their positions by merit and questioning their competency implies quite a bit about your position on women in positions of power.

Please explain what you mean by usurp.
-
By definition it is illegitimate, and by force. I would take it, in the context, to mean women take authority just because they are women, not because they have earned that position.
-
I think though, his tweet leaves too much to the imagination. People see the world through their own lenses and because he offered no additional explanation, each side takes it in a way that supports their view of Jordan, not necessarily what he actually means.
-
But it takes a misinterpretation of the word "usurp" to see this as the lefties appear to be. It is not that difficult a word! It very clearly applies only to illegitimate taking of power, by some form of force.
-
It's the illegitimate taking of what power exactly? That's where the concern is. Look, I have a very traditional marriage, at-home wife until kids are grown. But Jordan does need to consider how his words will be
-
Someone else gave a great example: Trudeau's promise to have a 50% female cabinet. So some of his cabinet members are chosen not because they are the best for the job, but because they are women.
-
Feminists widely usurp power, and in other cases try to. Feminists in universities in many countries have distorted courses and hiring practices, prevented all-male spaces being formed and closed others. Governments through their own feminism or in response to activists have ...

... set women's "rights" above men, distorting the application of both criminal and civil law. In schools teachers are almost all women, and political indoctrination is becoming more common. In Sweden they are going so far as to proclaim themselves social engineers. In HR ...
