Metaphysics studies abstract concepts, which is what Dr Peterson is implying God may be. Chocolate is more concrete.

God, when defined concretely, is proposed as part of reality and can then be debunked. Defined abstractly, God is unfalsifiable.

You seem to be projecting a particular concrete notion of God upon Dr Peterson's statement, when it doesn't belong there at all.
