My psychology professor (who's amazing by the way, I'm not trying to disrespect her) criticizes Jung because she says his theories are hard to prove scientifically and were more like philosophy. What are your thoughts on that take?

I appreciate the reply Jordan. It’s the most grounded and researched framework for behavior/ personality, although I do believe less proven frameworks are also valuable in their own right. (I.e. jung, much of maslows work)

I agree with you, however, intuitively I can recognize cognitive functions, identifying their type, I can then observe the big 5 traits like openness. Each individual is unique in big5 traits, yet share common functions in the way they process input. It's like seeing the matrix.

jung said the functions can change but yeah it's interesting, from what I've observed I think types seem to be born this way, perhaps it's patterns in the structure of the mind or to do with genes
