This will increasingly happen. As people are hired based on inherent characteristics rather than competency, they shall focus more on finding ways to give themselves the required characteristics and less on making themselves competent enough.

I agree. Integrity is important. Trust is necessary for good teamwork and collaboration. Most of us are replaceable with another equally competent professional. Unless she's in the same level as Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Warren Buffett, etc, I would fire her on the spot.
