"The west" is a rather vague generalisation is it not? Where is the line drawn for that? I live thousands of miles to the east of you, Australia for example is thousands of miles to the east of me, Where is this "west" that I hear so often.
-
It’s about ideology and shared values/history. Not geography. I think most people know what “west” refers to.

If anyone takes what he said as belief in astrology, that's not what it is. Astrology and alchemy both were attempts at science, eventually humans figured out how to separate the looking at the material world from all the magical fantasy stuff.
-
What Jung did was basically re-examine the magical fantasy stuff and look at it as art, not science. And try to figure out the psychology behind it. The same way the religious texts of old religions may have been taken as fact by its believers, but we examine it as art. Art:pic.twitter.com/VaC8P2YlLh

We have created the sacred games Nietzsche called for but they seem to be quite deleterious. The lust for power, the love of sights and sounds, and our neo tribalism has left us empty and far from the higher history he predicted
