We can't fight Foucault by going back--we just can't. What we need to do is go all the way down the rabbit hole that he (and other Modernists) have opened. There are Catholic philosophers who are trying to do just that.

We can call it tacit knowledge or whatever (but the notion of "unconscious knowledge" i think has to be taken as the useful metaphor it is... we act, without consciously knowing, in a way that resembles -no pun intended- what we do when we know stuff...)
