We know that carbon emissions have to substantially decrease over the next 80-100 years in order to avert a disastrous rise in global temperature. The article says as much. This element of the model is both incontrovertible and unequivocal.

Climate change will destroy the life on the planet. We can't be able to survive.

If you thought in geological years you would realize how futile human life is on this planet.

If we fix the money, then we may fix the broken incentive structures that perpetuate rampant consumerism and wastage. Start at first principles and build from there.

We hear "Follow the science!" constantly, but I question if climate modelling is really hard science. It's highly speculative, and not really falsifiable in the same way hypotheses in physics are - it resembles something more like macroeconomic modelling. Scepticism warranted!
-
It's very easy to falsify. If global temperature starts trending down then the theory is falsified. Oh and no it isn't 'speculative'.

I differentiate “operational science” from “model-based science” precisely because modeling introduces imperceptible human error. Designing repeatable experiments on the real world is much different to running one model in different ways with different variables.
-
Models might be good or bad. But knowledge derived from real world experiments is vastly superior.
