maybe he meant something along the lines of: "Higher intelligence doesn't need to defend a reasonable assumption in front of another constructive higher intelligence." What he wrote, as it is, is silly though.. yes.

Surely you need to speak out against wholly wrong or misleading assertions, although working together to contend with the issue itself would be better (if not always possible).
