That’s the boondoggle of all it. That carbon is going to be spent somewhere. Weather it’s Russia, China, or some other South East Asia country, but as long as it’s not EU, USA, or Canada politicians will take a victory lap. The net positive for the Earth is 0.

This is actually good. Long-chain hydrocarbons have phenomenal energy density, but bad long-term externalities. Electric motors and batteries are the correct long-term solution for land and sea transportation; hydrogen is the correct long-term solution for air transportation.

Nuclear power is the correct long-term solution for grid energy production. All of these leave hydrocarbons behind, to be used for much better things (specifically, plastics). We NEED to solve pollution. But we need to solve it with tech, not virtue signalling.
